"Vintage Style with a Modern Attitude" is my creative motto.
Welcome to my blog! I have been sewing for 27 years, and love vintage clothes and re-using items. I am a perfectionist, with an eye for detail and what works in putting something together. Nothing I made is ever exactly alike; I pride myself that with the hundreds of items I've made over the years, each has been individual and one-of-a-kind.
My style has evolved and I let some current fashions in colors, etc, seep into my designing; but my personal style has a vintage undercurrent through most of it and somehow it always works.
My sewing resume starts at the age of 4 with my first doll quilt, and I was making my own clothes and first "real" quilt by the time I was 11. I've sewn reproduction Victorian and Civil War garments, wedding gowns, children's clothes, purses, home decor items, ladies clothing, and always have multiple quilts in progress.
Right now, I'm enjoying quick quilting methods and practicing machine quilting; vintage style baby/toddler clothes, and other miscellaneous creative stuff.
My goal with this blog is to use it to show what projects I'm working on, and the stories behind them.
