How about quilting classes??

I'm seriously thinking about starting a beginner quilting class... I've had at least 10 ladies in the past several months ask me about teaching quilting, or tell me they wish they knew how, but don't even know how to use their sewing machine.
So... I came to ask you, my wonderful blog readers, what do you think? If there was a beginner quilting class in your area, would you take it?


Also, for a 6-week course of 1 night per week, with lessons on rotary cutting, machine piecing, pressing seams, simple borders, etc, how much would you be willing to pay? And would you, in this theoretical exercise, rather pay extra for me to include the fabrics so you don't have to shop for them?

Completed Anthropologie-Inspired Quilts

I've been showing photos as they've been coming along, but here are the 2 quilts I finished & shipped off to my wonderful Etsy customer last Thursday. She wanted 2 full-size quilts, both of my original Whimsical Rhapsody design, but a little different. Again, here are the Anthropology curtains she is designing her kids' room around, with accents of turquoise, avocado green, and mustard yellow:

Border fabric is by Tina Givens for Freespirit Fabrics, "Treetop Fancy". I always make my own binding, but in the time crunch to get these finished, and the dreaded thought of making binding for 2 full-size quilts (about 20 yards!!), I went with Wright's premade Extra Wide Bias Binding.

I love how they turned out, they were certainly a labor of love... and I decided that I hadn't been charging enough, lol!

Anthropologie-Inspired "Whimsical Rhapsody" quilt

These are the Anthropologie curtains that are going in the room where my customer will use the quilts; it may be hard to see, but there is mustard yellow, turquoise, and avocado green in here:

 This was the first block I machine quilted; I'm trying a new way to machine quilt, 1 section at a time. I hate trying to lug around a full-size quilt through my little sewing machine. If this doesn't work the way I want it to, from now on, I may have to start hiring my quilting out for anything bigger than a baby quilt.
